Elon Musk is being roasted for his over-the-top performance at Donald Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
The tech billionaire appeared thrilled to be with the Republican presidential candidate as he returned to the site of his July assassination attempt, where Musk was photographed jumping for joy behind Trump on stage.
But people on X, Musk's own social media platform, couldn't help but cringe at his exuberance and took to the site formerly known as Twitter to mock his right-wing cheer routine.
Many pointed out that Trump was seriously eyeing Musk as he bounced up and down on stage.
Others compared the Tesla CEO to a rambunctious child who was out past his bedtime.
And people didn't ignore Musk's awkward speech to the crowd, in which he declared himself “Dark MAGA” and condemned the possibility of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris getting elected.
Musk publicly announced his support for Trump in July after President Joe Biden's disastrous debate against his two-time rival, US President Trump.But the businessman reportedly began funneling millions into Trump's campaign months before through a super PAC.
It seems like Musk's endorsement was one of his soundest investments lately. (Last month it was reported that X's value had fallen by almost 72% since his takeover of the company in 2022.)
In August, Trump said he plans to offer Musk a Cabinet position if he is elected.
