A man who was injured in the Amazon Web Services Data Center last month recovers his injuries, a representative of his trade union told the stands.
A small fire brigade in the workplace that broke out in the 31100 block of Edison Road around 11.30 am 24 April injured two men who were treated on stage by the new Carlisle fire brigade and then went to the hospital for the treatment of their “serious” injuries.
One of the wounded men is an electrical employee, Mike Leda, a business manager at International Brotherhood or Electrical Workers Local 153, confirmed 21 May. Leda told the grandstand that nobody died in the incident and that the electricity worker is “on his way to recovery”.
Leda chose not to comment on the man's condition out of respect for the family, he said. Leda has not provided any information about the wounded second man.
New Carlisle Fire Assistant Chief Chad Hess confirmed that the victims were two men, but did not give their age. He did not give an update about their condition, with reference to the inability to stay in contact with specialist hospitals outside their reach with whom they have no existing relationship.
When asked what the injuries of the victims were on stage, or the men suffered from burns or smoke inhalation, Hess only said that their injuries were serious.
Ongoing research
The fire brigade and workplace incident is currently under the investigation of the new fire brigade of Carlisle, fire brigade researchers at the Indiana Department of Homeland Security State Fire Marshal and the Occupational Safety Safety and Health Administration of the Indiana Department of Labor. On April 29, iOSHA confirmed that an inspection of the safety compliance is underway, but said it does not comment on the current investigations.
