A recently Lake Tahoe Boating accident resulted in the tragic death of eight people.
One of the victims was 37-year-old Josh PicklesA Doordash director from San Francisco – as well as his parents Terry pickles73, and Paula Bozinovic71, the division of the Sheriff's Office by El Dorado County Sheriff confirmed to ABC 7 San Francisco. Josh's Uncle Peter Bayes72, also died in the accident, a family spokesperson told the outlet.
The other four victims were identified as Timothy O'Leary71, James Guck69, Theresa Giullari66, and Stephen Lindsay63, making it the deadliest sailing incident in California since 2019 in California, according to the outlet. Only two people survived, although their condition is unknown.
On June 21, Josh and his family went to the California Lake in his 27-foot “Chris-Craft” luxury motorboat in honor of his mother Paula's 71st birthday, their representative told The Outlet. Civil servants received 911 phone calls in which they capsized their boat during a storm around 5 p.m., by ABC 7.

“This is a terrible heartbreaking tragedy that took the lives of Joshua Pickles, his father Terry, his mother Paula, his uncle Peter as well as friends and family,” said the representative ABC 7. “The family has houses in the Bay Area both in the Bay Area.
Josh's wife Jordan Peck Was not on board at the time because she chose to stay on the coast with their 7 month old, according to the representative. And while she survived the deadly boot accident, Jordan expressed about how her life was changed forever due to the loss of her husband.
“We were destroyed by this tragedy,” she told the outlet. “No words can express the pain and fear that we feel that their lives were lost during what was intended as a joyful time on the lake. Our hearts go to those who have tragically lost their lives and the two survivors of this unexpected and deadly storm on Lake Tahoe.”

According to Josh's LinkedIn account, he was the global head of strategic purchasing and purchasing within the financial team of Doordash and had spent almost seven years with the company.
In a statement, Doordash's Chief Financial Officer thought about Josh's contribution to the Food Ordering Company.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic accident that the life of our beloved colleague, Josh Pickles,” CFO has taken Ravi Inukonda said in a statement to ABC7 News. “Josh loved his team and was an inspiration for everyone who had the privilege to know him.”
He added: “During his almost seven years at Doordash, he brought an infectious spirit that lifted the people around him. The loss of Josh is immeasurable. We miss him deeply and will always carry his memory with us.”
The CFO also acknowledged his surviving family members who mourn the loss and his statement: “Our thoughts and love are with his wife, his daughter, his family and everyone who was close to him. We work to support them through this incredibly difficult time.”
