His appearance at the game is the first time that a sitting American president has attended the annual NFL championship, which leads to increased security measures, according to the secret service.
“There are extensive planning and coordination to guarantee the safety of all those present, players and employees,” said spokesperson for the secret service Anthony Guglielmi on Tuesday in a statement.
Fox News' Bret Baier interviewed Trump in a pre -recorded segment that was broadcast before the start of the match. The interview, which is usually conducted by the channel that the game organizes, has somewhat become a standard practice for US presidents, but Trump skipped the chance in 2018 during his first administration. Likewise, former President Joe Biden skipped the interview in 2023 and 2024.
Trump has complimented Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes several times, also in his interview with Baier.
“It is clearly cool to hear that he has seen me play football and the game respects that I play,” Mahomes told reporters on Wednesday.
He added: “It is always cool to be able to play for a sitting president, someone who is at the top position in our country.”
Trump also received a warm welcome from Kansas City Chiefs Tight End of Travis Kelce, who goes out with Taylor Swift, said the pop star Trump that he hates.
“It's a great honor,” Kelce told reporters on Wednesday. “It doesn't matter who the president is, I know I'm excited because it's the biggest game of my life, you know, and the president there – it's the best country in the world – and that's pretty cool.”
Trump is not the only public figure with ties with politics that show up for the game. Former First Lady Jill Biden, a famous Eagles fan, also joined her grandson Hunter. Former President Joe Biden was not present.
The presence of Trump in the Grand Match follows his decision to attend the army-Navy football match in December, accompanied by the then elected JD Vance, now secretary of defense Pete Hegseeth, Florida Gov. Ron Desantis and Daniel Penn A homeless black man in a chokehold about the metro in New York City in 2023 (Penny was acquitted of the man's killing, Jordan Neely, in 2024.)))
