Details about deadly Casey Highway Crash, identified victim

    Carbondale Twp., Lackawana County (WBRE/WYOU) – The State Police has released details about a Rollover -Crash on the Casey Highway that a driver killed.

    On September 4, around 5:30 PM, a crash took place near the exith count of Meredith Street along the Casey Highway near Mijl Marker 12.

    The State Police says that different witnesses of the crash claimed that the vehicle was driving at high speed and passed other cars.

    The driver, Michael Propes, 35, from Carbondale, made an abrupt right bend, causing his vehicle to lose control and travels from the shoulder, hit a light pole, then a concrete base, PSP reported.

    The vehicle of Propes was destroyed and ended up on the roof. The police stated that propes was cast out of the vehicle and was later declared dead in the Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.

    Lackawanna County Timothy Rowland stated that Propes had a white pit bull puppy called Storm, who was traveling with him and was last seen on a dike near the Meredith Street off-disaster. It is unclear whether the dog is missing at the moment.

    The State Police of Pennsylvania continues to investigate the crash.
