When asked for more detailed, Rebecca dropped a bomb: “In the past few months I discovered that he had a gambling problem.” At first she said she believed it had stopped. When Ramsey asked what evidence she had, she admitted: “Not much.”

While the conversation unfolded, Ramsey and Kamel heard that Rebecca's husband had $ 14,000 in one month gokt-Meestal on Scratch-Off lottery tickets. The couple together yield around $ 10,000 a month.

“He spent $ 14,000 on scratch-offs in a month?” Kamel repeated. “That is not cool if you make 10 grand. That is like exaggerated.”

Earlier in the call, Ramsey had proposed to fully combine finances and to use a joint budget as a way to build trust and discipline. But after learning the full size of gambling, he changed course.

“At the moment it cuts him off from access to the payment account,” Kamel said. “This man cannot be calculated. I think you are dealing with an addict, honey,” Ramsey added.

Kamel chimde in it and emphasized that Rebecca should manage the money itself for the time being. Ramsey added that her husband should seek help immediately, including gamblers anonymously, a counselor, their pastor and wedding advice.

“It's an illogical thing that points to addiction,” said Ramsey. “To spend $ 14,000 when you earn $ 10,000 from freaking scratch-offs, which looks like the lowest chance of everything you can do.”
