Conan O'Brien will repeat his Oscar -Hosting tasks next year, said the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Monday morning, in one of the earliest innovations for an Oscar -Gastheer.
The news comes after Mr O'Brien has received high figures for his work as the EMCEE of the 97th Oscar broadcast, which this month delivered a five-year assessment high for ABC. It was his first time he organized the show.
“The only reason why I am organizing the Oscars next year is that I want to hear Adrien Brody ending,” Mr O'Brien said in a statement, referring to Mr. Brody's five -minute inauguration after winning the Oscar for the best actor.
The producers of the show, Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney, will also return for a second year. And the executive producers of the Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan ceremony will return for a third consecutive year. The ceremony will be held on March 15, 2026.
The task of hosting the Oscar broadcast is often a thorny one. The comedian Chevy Chase called it “the most thankless job in the world.” The hosts rarely get credit when things go well – and are often held responsible if something goes wrong.
In recent years, the Academy has tried to strengthen the assignment early, although it only announced its most recent hosts in November before the March broadcast. Jimmy Kimmel signed for his fourth and last turn in November 2023 and Mr. O'Brien was mentioned in November 2024.
“Conan was the perfect host – who expertly led us through the evening with humor, warmth and respect,” said Bill Kramer, the chief executive of the academy, and Janet Yang, the president of the group, in a statement.
