Beijing (AP)-The collapse of a railway bridge with substructure over a large river in China has killed at least 12 employees and missing four others, according to reports from the state media.

Aerial photos of the official news agency of Xinhua show a large part that is missing in the curved aquamarine arch of the bridge. A curved part of the bridge deck hangs down in the yellow river below.

Sixteen employees were on the bridge in the province of Qinghai in northwestern China when a steel cable broke about 3 hours during a voltage operation on Friday, said Xinhua. Boats, a helicopter and robots were used in the search for the missing.
