Black bear perception in St. Augustine, seen on video climbing wall and wandering around the street

    St. Augustinus heard that on Tuesday morning it has a new tourist with the A Black Bear spotted in the center of/Lincolnville.

    The St. Augustine Police Department posted a video and image of the bear on his Facebook to scale a wall and roam the street in the early morning.

    “Law enforcement is currently on site with the bear in a remote area in South Lincolnville,” the department said. “

    Residents and visitors are encouraged to be careful when they meet the bear.

    “It is important to maintain a respectful distance and never run,” the police said. “Black bears prefer to avoid people and usually continue quickly.”

    This follows a three -day fear in Atlantic Beach, where a rabid Coyote initiated five attacks before he was shot and killed by an officer.
