(Reuters) -US Treasury -Secretary Scott Bessent has emerged as a possible candidate to succeed the federal reserve goal Jerome Powell, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, with reference to people familiar with the case, a report that was immediately refused by the White House.
Bessent agrees with a small list of candidates for the FED chair that Kevin Warssh has recorded, a former FED officer who previously interviewed Trump for Finance Minister, Bloomberg added.
An official from the White House rejected the Bloomberg report as false.
Trump said on Friday that he would mention a Powell successor very soon. Bloomberg, those two non -misered people who are familiar with the issue, reported that formal interviews for the job did not start.
Bessent leads Trump's radical revision of global trade and has a hand in insisting on changes in taxes and regulations.
