Arizona coach wants Raiders stadium fan who punched Kyler Murray in the face banned for life

The Raiders lost unbearably on Sunday, forfeiting a 20-point lead at halftime and giving up a touchdown and two-point conversion in the final regulation game.

That was just a prelude to the final gut-punch: Byron Murphy scooped up Raiders receiver Hunter Renfroe’s fumble and returned it 59 yards for a game-winning touchdown in overtime.

The icing on the cake of the terrible sundae for Raiders fans: The game was in Las Vegas, so supporters could watch the Cardinals players celebrate on the Allegiant Stadium field.

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was celebrating with fans in the stands behind one of the end zones when a fan punched Murray in the face. Here are two looks.

There was a mix of Raiders and Cardinals fans around Murray, but the person Murray hit was wearing grey, .

Yahoo Sports reported that police are investigating the incident.

This is from the Yahoo story: β€œLas Vegas police spokesman Larry Hadfield told the Associated Press that around 6:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, a battery complaint was filed alleging that ‘a spectator at the stadium punched a professional soccer player.’ ”

The player who filed the complaint was unknown, Yahoo reported.

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters on Monday that he hopes the fan will be banned from NFL stadiums for life.

“I just got word,” Kingsbury said. “But I think that guy is a jerk, whoever did it, and I hope they arrest him, he gets fired and can never go to another game. “
