American teacher took leave after reporting Palestinian child an extremist

    WASHINGTON (REUTERS) – A public teacher in Pennsylvania was placed on leave after reporting a Palestinian American high school student student, said the school district and a Muslim interest group.

    The Central Dauphin School District said on Saturday that it had learned about the allegations that the teacher made the different remark in an after -school program last week.

    “The teacher involved in the alleged incident is with administrative leave pending our investigation,” said the district in a statement, and added that it had no tolerance for racist speech.

    The Council for American Islamic Relations said that the claim was that the teacher had noticed: “I did not negotiate terrorists,” when the Palestinian American student asked for a change of chair.

    The District and Cair did not mention the teacher or the student. Cair said it was in contact with the child's parents.

    Context

    Recent American incidents involved include the attempt to drown a 3-year-old Palestinian American girl in Texas and the fatal stabbing of a 6-year-old Palestinian American boy in Illinois.

    Other incidents are the stabbing of a Palestinian American man in Texas, the beating of a Muslim man in New York, a violent crowd attack on pro-Palestinian demonstrators in California and the shooting of three Palestinian American students in Vermont.

    Incidents that are an alarm about anti -Semitism include threats against Jews at Cornell University who have led to a conviction and conviction, a failed conspiracy to attack a Jewish center in New York City and physical attacks against a Jewish man in Michigan , a Rabbi in Maryland and two Jewish and two Jewish students at a University of Chicago.
