Authorities say that Joshua refused to allow a coroner to perform an autopsy, which said he did not want his wife to be “cut”, although Stacy had registered to be an organ donor. The body of Stacy was cremated within two days and Joshua submitted a claim for her $ 250,000 life insurance policy.

Stipped by Stacy's mother, Suzie Robinson, that Joshua had a relationship with a colleague, launched insurance researchers a probe in the death of Stacy. State authorities then discovered that Joshua had given conflicting reports of his place of residence before he found his wife unconscious and told a friend that he had went for a walk to burn some energy, but another that he was cut in the back garden that cut wood. On December 19, 2019, Joshua was arrested and accused of murder in the first degree and insurance fraud. Justice officers now believe that he started to poison his wife with eye drops in her drinks “for a certain period that leads to her death,” said judicial documents. Joshua did not argue guilty and was released on $ 1.5 million bail.

News about the arrest of Joshua shook the quiet, close -knit community of the Hunsuckers. “I was shocked,” says O'Day. “I had something like that:” If I wrote 10 people that I knew I thought I would commit a crime, he would not even be a glimpse in my brain. I never thought that. “

“He was always over her,” says Babysitter Kailyn Macdonald, who started working for Joshua months after Stacy's death. “They spoke about moving together to a house – not that house, but buying a house together.” Macdonald remembers that Joshua rarely spoke about his deceased husband. “He never said:” I miss stacy, “or:” I miss their mother. “I don't understand that. Shocking, 20 days after the assumed incident along the road, claimed public prosecutors, Joshua tried to poison older daughter Piper by placing “the same substance that his wife killed” in a drink bottle. The alleged poisoning, said public prosecutors, was “again made with an attempt to involve the Lord and Mrs. Robinson in the death of his wife and to remove the Robinsons from the life of his daughters,” said the motion. Also found in the Piper system was a depression medication that is not prescribed for children claiming to have found in a bag in the Joshua truck when he submitted the abduction report against his father-in-law.
Joshua was again arrested on August 6, 2024 and accused of witness intimidation and obstruction of justice. He is now waiting for the trial in the Gaston County prison. In the meantime, the lovers of Stacy remain sad and stunned by her death. “Stacy was always such a friendly, loving person,” said Philip Smith, a member of her church. “She only brought goodness wherever she went.”
