Elon Musk fired back at Donald Trump Monday night in a series of scathing tweets, urging the former president to give up his ambitions of a political comeback.

Musk’s comments came after Trump rocked Tesla’s CEO at his Saturday meeting in Anchorage, Alaska.

“I don’t hate the guy, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail into the sunset,” Musk said. wrote on Twitter late Monday night. “Dems should call off the attack too — don’t make sure Trump’s only way to survive is to win back the presidency.”

But it didn’t stop there. Musk took another chance – at Trump’s age.

“Trump would be 82 at the end of term, which is too old to be CEO of anything, let alone the United States of America,” Musk said. continued† “If [Florida Gov. Ron] DeSantis takes on Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will win easily — he doesn’t even have to campaign.”

The SpaceX founder also responded to Trump’s claim at his meeting that Musk had told Trump that he voted for him.

    “Not true”, Musk explained

A Trump spokesman did not respond to The Daily Beast’s request for comment Monday night.

While Trump has long been publicly teasing about a 2024 run for the White House, a source close to the ex-president recently told The Daily Beast that no official decision has been made yet, adding: “It’s a personal decision. among [Trump] and his family.”

Still, the 45th president has continued to hold large rallies where he ranted against all sorts of adversaries, including the Tesla boss.

“Elon. Elon is not going to buy Twitter. Where have you heard that before? Mine,” Trump said at his Saturday night rally, targeting Musk for rejecting his purchase of the social media platform.

“You know, he said the other day, ‘Oh, I’ve never voted for a Republican.’ I said, “I didn’t know that.” He told me he voted for me. So he’s another bullshit artist,” Trump added at the rally before tearing Musk against his “rotten” contract with Twitter.

The barbs marked a sea change in the couple’s dynamics, even just a few months ago. In May, at a conference hosted by the Financial times that he would restore the former president’s Twitter account if his takeover went through.

“I don’t think it was right to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake because it alienated much of the country and ultimately didn’t result in Donald Trump having no voice,” Musk said.

The Tesla CEO had previously served on two of Trump’s presidential advisory boards. However, he resigned when the then president withdrew from the Paris Agreement, an international commitment to mitigate the effects of climate change.

More recently, the billionaire confused with the Biden administration, claiming it has conspicuously overlooked Tesla when it emphasized US automakers’ efforts to produce more environmentally friendly vehicles.

Apparently he had had enough of both leaders and Musk has switched to DeSantis. It remains to be seen how long that alliance will last.
