President Donald Trump Said that the shooting in a Mormon church in Michigan seemed to be on Sunday morning “another focused attack on Christians” – in which the fatal shooting was killed only a month after two children were killed and several others were injured during a shooting in a Catholic church in Minnesota.
The president posted on Truth Social shortly after the news about the shooting in Michigan Brak. This is what he said:
I was informed about the terrible shooting that took place in the church of Jesus Christ of the Saints of the last days, in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The FBI was immediately on site and will lead federal research and offer full support to national and local officials. The suspect is dead, but there is still much to learn. Meanwhile, pray for the victims and their families. This epidemic of violence in our country must end immediately!
His post comes after at least one person was killed in a shooting in the church of Jesus Christ of the Saints of the last days in Grand Blanc, which is about 50 miles north of Detroit. Authorities said that several other people were injured in the attack.
NBC News reported that a 40-year-old man drove his vehicle through the front of the church before he got out and opened the fire with a gun. The church was “active on fire”, according to the police, and local officers believe that the shooter set fire to the church.
The attack on the LDS church arrives at the Catholic school in Minneapolis a month after the deadly shooting.
