Teen fights for life after horror shooting outside Wembley Stadium

    An 18-year-old boy fights for his life after being shot outside Wembley Stadium, the police said.

    Officers were called to Atlantic Crescent on Sunday around 5.30 am for reports of a shooting outside the stadium in the northwest of London. They found an 18-year-old with a shot injury.

    He was brought to a large trauma center where he stays in a critical condition, according to the Metropolitan Police.

    The relatives of the teenager are informed and are supported by officers. There have been no arrests at this stage and questions are underway. Officers stay on site and Wembley's South Way is blocked.

    Chief inspector Tony Josephs, of the local police team in the northwest of London, said: “We acknowledge the shock and impact that this incident will have on the community.

    “The research is at a very early stage and we work in pace to determine the full conditions.

    A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called today at 5.26 am [21 September] Reports of a shooting in Atlantic Half Maan, Wembley. We have sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance team, paramedics in Fast Response Cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.

    “We also sent a trauma team in a car from the London air ambulance. We treated a patient on the spot and brought him to a large trauma center.”

    The bus route 440, between Turnham Green and Wembley, has been diverted in both directions, which quoted an “police incident”.

    A statement on the website was: “To terminate buses to Wembley in Brent Civic Center (e), without a service between Olympic way and the first way. Buses to Turnham Green start from Lakeside Way (C), without service at Stops First Way, Olympic Way and Brent Civic Center.”
