HBO Max dropped the long -awaited full trailer for S2 from Peacemaker—James Gunn's Emmy-nominated series Sponnen off his film from 2021, The suicide team -San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.

As previously reported, the first season of eight episodes was set at five months after the events of The suicide team. Peacemaker-Christopher Smith-has survived an almost fatal shooting, is recruited by the US government for a new mission: the mysterious project Butterfly, led by a mercenary called Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji). The team also includes Argus agent John Economos (Steve Agee) of the Penitentiary of Belle Reve, agency of the National Security Agency and former Waller Aide Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), and new team member Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks).
Project Butterfly turned out to be a mission to save the earth from an alien kind of parasitic butterfly beings that took over human bodies. The misfits of the project eventually managed to beat the butterflies in a confrontation on a ranch, and even survived the massacre despite some serious injuries.
Cena, Brooks, Holland, Agee and Stroma are all back for S2, together with Nhut Lee as Judomaster and Eagly, of course. Robert Patrick is also mentioned in the S2 cast and repeats his role as Chris' Father, Auggie. New cast members are Frank Grillo as Rick Flagg Sr. (Grillo expressed the role in the animated Creature Commandos), now head of Argus and to avenge the death of his son; Tim Meadows as Argus agent Langston Fleury; Sol Rodriguez like Sasha Bordeaux; And Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild, described as 'Nemesis' by Eagly.
The events of S1 took place in the Oude Dceu, while S2 takes place in the new DCU, but Gunn said that those earlier events are nevertheless considered 'Canon', apart from the cameets by Dceu Justice League members. S2 is part of Gunn's “gods and monsters” lei; Cena's peacemaker even made a short cameo Superman. This time, Chris will be struggling “to reconcile his past with his new feeling of goal, while he continues to kick just malignant ass in his misguided search for peace,” according to the official synopsis.
