Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos Exchange Vows

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have exchanged vows on an island in the Venice lagoon for around 250 Hollywood stars, Tech Tycoons, billionaire entrepreneurs and royalties in the most striking wedding of the year.

Applause was heard when the couple made the knot on the small island of San Giorgio, across the water of St Mark's Square.

Previously blew Sanchez Kissing when she came from the luxury Aman Venice Hotel. The 55-year-old American journalist and helicopter pilot took a water taxi along the large canal before he stepped on a wooden pier on San Giorgio.

Bezos, 61, was seen shortly thereafter on the way to the island that was a black tuxedo and sunglasses on the way.

“She looked very Jackie O,” said a photographer, referring to the headscarf and a large sunglasses Mrs. Sánchez wore.

The island, the home of a cluster of historic churches and monasteries, has a huge view of the Venice lagoon. There will be a version of Matteo Bocelli, the son of the Italian Tenor Andrea Bocelli, followed by a fireworks.

Bezos was seen waving to crowds while he was on his way to the gala.

The ceremony will have no legal status according to Italian legislation and it is thought that the couple, both of which are separate, may already be legally married in the US.

The lush three -day Extravaganza, which has an estimated tens of millions of euros, would bring an economic boost of € 957 million (£ 817 million) to Venice, said Daniela Santanchè, the Italian Minister of Tourism.

The figure is based on a study conducted by the Statistics Office of the Italian Ministry of Tourism. It would represent 68 percent of the annual income that Venice normally removes from tourism, she added.

The claim was made because Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John perform on Saturday night for the couple at a party performance for the couple.

It will be held in the Arsenal, the age -old shipyard where Venetians built wood trading ships and warships that helped them to forge a commercial empire in the Adriatic Sea and beyond. It is a huge complex of warehouses, shipyards and workshops surrounded by created walls, which are guarded by the laying of towers and cut stone lions.

Lady Gaga and Sir Elton are known as friends, have performed together in the past and worked together on the Song Sine from above.

A guest list with the Kardashian sisters, Queen Rania by Jordan, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates has ensured that the wedding has taken the headlines and has been broadcast all over the world. Khloé Kardashian and Kris Jenner, her mother, were photographed on Friday in the luxury boutiques of Venice.

“Events such as these reinforce the global image of Italy, generate jobs, promote the country and attract new inflow of demanding tourists,” said Mrs. Santanchè.

“The media also reinforces the part of Italy in the wedding tourist sector. I want to thank Jeff Bezos and everyone who chooses Italy as the place to celebrate the most important moments of their lives.”

Critics say that Venice is already pressing under the pressure of millions of tourists, and the last thing the area needs is that his profile is further increased.

Activists have performed a number of protests against the wedding.

Demonstrants used lasers on Thursday evening to project the words “no room for bezos” and “fck bzs” to the bell tower in St Mark's Square.

The opinion is sharply distributed in the city. Some Venetians have welcomed the economic benefits that the wedding will bring, while others have said that it reinforces the impression that Venice will be a cultural Disneyland where tourism prevails and residents are driven out by exorbitant rental prices.

Eliza Didone, 79-year-old resident who lives in a house with a view of a canal in the Cannaregio district, said: “It will generate money to a small minority such as hotels and restaurants. It will bring work for the water taxis and the gondeliers.

“But for many other people it feels like a slap in the face. Young people work 12 hours a day and are lucky when they earn 1500 euros a month. And Bezos comes to Venice for three days and spend millions.”

About the Piazza said Angela, a bar owner,: “We have bigger things to worry about than the wedding of Bezos. The number one problem here is the home crisis, the fact that the locals cannot afford to live somewhere.

But Marco, who owns a tourist store on one end of the Rialto bridge, said that the founder of the Amazon and his rich guests should become very welcome.

“At least they will yield some income in the city. Not like the daily cups we get. They arrive for a few hours, use all services, hide the alleys, pass on a few euros and then leave.

“They create chaos and discomfort every day. I think the demonstrators are hypocritical – I bet they all have Amazon accounts.”
