Bedminster, NJ (Reuters) -Donald Trump said on Saturday that there would be “serious consequences” if Elon Musk finances American Democrats who are against Republicans who are voting against the radical tax and expenditure account of the president and his relationship with his billionaire -donor.

In a telephone interview with NBC News, Trump refused to say what those consequences would be and added that he had not had any discussions about investigating Musk.

Asked if he thought his relationship with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO was over, Trump said, “I would assume, yes.”

“No,” Trump told NBC when he was asked if he had the desire to restore his relationship with Musk.

Musk and Trump began to exchange insults this week, while Musk denounced Trump's bill as a 'disgusting horror'. The opposition of Musk against the measure is to complicate the efforts to adopt the bill in the congress, where Republicans have a slender majority in the House of Representatives and Senate.

The bill was taken to the house last month and now lies in front of the Senate, where Trump's fellow republicans are considering making changes. Non -party analysts estimate that the measure would add $ 2.4 trillion to the American debt for 10 years.

Trump said on Saturday that he is convinced that the bill would be adopted by the US 4 July Independence Day Holiday.

“In fact, yes, people who were, would now vote for it, are now going to vote enthusiastically, and we expect it to pass,” Trump told NBC.

Musk had removed some social media posts that are critical of Trump, including one that indicates the support of accusing the president, who seemed to look for a de-escalation of their public feud, which exploded on Thursday.

Trump has an evaluation of federal government contracts suggesting by Musk on Friday. People who spoke with Musk said that his anger started to withdraw and they think he will want to repair his relationship with Trump.
