Conservatives worked out online on Tuesday after the official account of the Gop on X house (formerly Twitter) dared to share a message that was partially written in Spanish.
“We speak English here” was a common reaction of furious right -wing critics.
Some commentators wondered if the account of the Republican conference was hacked, while others were angry that the person responsible for the post was fired.
See the message here:
Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) led the chorus of right-wing indignation, posts: “Is this a joke, @houseegop? We are in America. We represent Americans. We do not admit in foreign languages. Speak English.”
Various accounts that President Donald Trump's executive order is referred to, which indicates English as the official language of the United States.
That followed the closure of his administration of the Spanish language version of the official White House website within a few hours of his return to the office.
The @Housegop account has previously had to deal with similar recoil for placing in Spanish, especially after congratulating “President Donald Trump y vice president JD Vance” after their inauguration in January.
