Coal plant comes down in Germany during controlled demolition

    A coal -fired power plant in Ibbenburen, Germany, was demolished on Sunday 6 April in a controlled explosion.

    WDR News reported that both the 100-meter high boiler house and the 125-meter high cooling tower were successfully brought down, after the closure of the factory in 2021 as part of the national energy transition of Germany, away from fossil fuels.
