BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) – One of the forensic experts who are responsible for performing Diego Maradona's autopsy said that Argentinian football was at least 12 hours of pain before he died and noticed that “only doctor” should have noticed symptoms a few days earlier.
Carlos Cassinelli, director of Forensic Medicine at the scientific police – SUPERINTENCY, provided details on Thursday about the autopsy that was carried out the day of Maradona's death – November 25, 2020 – during household hospitalization in a house in a house in the municipality of Buenos Aires.
“The heart was completely covered with fat and blood clots, which indicate pain,” said the specialist during the murder case for seven health workers.
The autopsy concluded that Maradona died of acute pulmonary edema secondary in congestive heart failure.
“This is a patient who had collected water for the whole days; that is not acute. This was something that could be foreseen,” said Cassinelli. “Every doctor who examines a patient would find this.”
According to the prosecutor, the accused professionals – a neurosurgeon, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, doctors and nurses – who took care of Maradona during his recovery could not do enough medical care, who allegedly led to his death.
During the investigation, various witnesses witnessed that they had noticed Maradona's face and belly swollen.
Among those who are right, Leopoldo Luque, the personal doctor of Maradona for the last four years of his life, and psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, who prescribed medication that Maradona took until the time of his death.
