Trump dismisses Democrats on the federal trade committee

President Trump fired the two democratic members of the Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday, a rejection of the traditional independence of the business ruler that will free up the way for the agenda of the administration and be able to take on a legal challenge.

The White House told the Democrats, Rebecca Kelly Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya, that the president ended their roles. The Congress has established the FTC to enforce the protection of the protection of consumers and antitrust laws. It usually has five members, with the president of the president having three seats and the counterparty two.

“Today the president has dismissed me illegally from my position as a federal trading commissioner, who is clearly violating the clear language of a statute and clearly the precedent of the Supreme Court,” said Mrs. Slaughter in a statement. “Why? Because I have a voice.

Mr. Trump's maneuver is his last attempt to assert the power of the presidency in relation to independent supervisors at agencies within the US government.
