“Fallas is about criticism and satire, but always with respect. They must of course refer to politics and current events, so they criticize everything we see as wrong, but with a satirical perspective. “

Tourists and the local population visited the Fallas Festival that was held every year in the Valencia region, where sculptures, some are satirically spread over the city before they are set on fire.

The gigantic figures, or “ninots”, the Valencian word for dolls, are often made of wood, plaster and paper -bracket for many months.

The regional leader of Valencia, Carlos Mazon and the Spain -Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, belonged to the figures that were shown this year.

This year's festival has a cathartic aspect, which is after rain and flash flames have encouraged rivers to go over in Valencia and other parts of Spain who kill more than 200 people and destroy houses and ownership in October 2024.

The winner of this year was a fallera, a traditionally dressed Valencian woman, and employees covered with mud, referring to the impact of the storm.
