Google has a new mission in the AI era: to add Gemini to as many products as possible from the company. We have already seen Gemini in search results, text messages and more. In the latest update from Google to Workspace, Gemini Agenda appointments from Gmail can add with a single click. Well, assuming that Gemini is doing well the first time, which is far from certain.
The new calendar button appears at the top e -mails, right next to the summary button that arrived last year. The calendar option is displayed in Gmail-Threads with usable meeting with Chit-Chat, so that you can stamp that button to make an appointment in one step. The Gemini sidebar opens to confirm that the appointment has been made, which is a good opportunity to check the robot. There will be a handy editing button in the Gemini window in the event that it makes a mistake. However, the robot cannot yet invite people to these events.
The effect of using the button is the same as opening the Gemini panel and asking to make an appointment. The new functionality is easy to detect events and offering the button as a kind of shortcut. You cannot expect this button to be displayed on messages that already have a calendar integration, such as food reservations and flights. They already appear in Google Agenda without AI.
