The process for one of the accused murderers of Kendal Crank, a Charlotte mother who was shot and killed in her car six years ago, is currently underway.

Surveillance video shown in court laid the moments in the run -up to and after the shooting at Kendal Crank in March 2019. The incident took place during rush hour in North Charlotte, where Crank was on his way to the nursing school.

The surveillance images revealed a typical afternoon scene along West 28th Street, with a school bus that passed only a few minutes before the gunfire erupted.
Crank, who drove into a red Kia, was stopped at a traffic light when she was deadly shot in the head. Prosecutors claim that Adonis Smith, one of three men accused of Crank's murder, was in a black SUV behind her vehicle.

The light became green and while the cars walked forward, a shooting followed, which resulted in Crank's car that rolled to a stop along a fence on East 28th Street. Another camera corner showed that the suspect's car was left in North Tryon Street to Uptown, while people were seen on the spot who fled from the gunfire.
At the end of Monday afternoon, the defense went on that second surveillance video with the parking lot of a strip center.
They claim that two men shoot from the parking lot at Smith Schoten when he was in the black SUV.
They claimed that Smith only shot back from self -defense, with one of his bullets that hit Crank.
Crank's best friend, who was in a car for her that day, is expected to take the position at a certain moment in this case.
The process will continue on Tuesday.
