Indian Crowd Crush Survivors describe chaos when the death toll rises

    Story: People were still seen to push trains in the capital of India on Sunday, even when the death toll came up the night before from a crowd.

    The tragedy took place on Saturday evening in the most important train station in New Delhi.

    Media reports said passengers were waiting to step on trains to pray the city where Hindu Maha Kumbh festival took place, when the crowd suddenly rose.

    “The crowd started pushing and people fell over us,” he said. “My wife died on the spot.”

    There were scenes of chaos because the wounded were taken to the hospital.

    This man said his mother died after being crushed among people's wave.

    Vice -police commissioner KPS Malhotra told reporters that two trains had been delayed, which led to an increase in people collected on the platforms.

    The country's railway minister said that an investigation into the incident had been ordered.
