Sick now? Flu is yielded a higher peak this season.

While H5N1 bird flu is increasing fear and egg prices, seasonal flu viruses gather to a second high this winter, an unusual course that is not seen in most years.

Flu cases had reached a peak at the end of December this season. In week 52 compared to December 28, the percentage of outpatient visits with regard to flu-like diseases (ILI) struck around 6.76 percent and then tapped the first week of 2025 (week 1). The percentage of ILI visits is the standard statistics for following flu activity, which peaks by approximately 7 percent or lower in a certain season. The 2009–2010 flu season – when the novel H1N1 (aka pig flu) appeared – appears before reaching a decades of High of 7.7 very early in the season (week 42).
