16-year-old Clovis Unified student killed in motorcycle accident

    CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno County coroner's office has officially identified the 16-year-old who died Tuesday in a motorcycle crash in Fresno.

    The coroner's office announced Wednesday that the murdered teenager was Austin Ly.

    According to Fresno police, 16-year-old Austin Ly was the motorcyclist found Tuesday afternoon in the roadway in the area of ​​Tulare and Fowler Avenues in Fresno, not far from Fancher Creek Elementary School. He was pronounced dead a short time later. Investigators say the driver of the other vehicle involved remained at the scene.

    Clovis Unified School District also confirmed Wednesday that Austin Ly was a student at Clovis East High School. Officials described him as a “well-known and well-liked student in our JROTC program and on campus.”

    The school district added that the staff and students at Clovis East are grieving and that members of both the education team and the mental health team were on campus Wednesday to support students.
