Robert Griffin III Responded to His ESPN Firing with the Perfect Meme

Getting fired is never fun. And if you’re a big media personality like Robert Griffin III, working for a major network like ESPN, it’s probably even less fun, because it seems like the whole world knows you’ve lost your job.

RG3, however, had the best response to something it apparently didn't know was coming. On Thursday, after reports emerged that Griffin and colleague Sam Ponder had been slammed by the network over budget cuts, Griffin spoke up X (formerly Twitter) to share a meme about the situation.

But he didn't just share a meme. He shared a clip from the movie Fridayin which John Witherspoon's character Pops reprimands his son Craig over his troubles at work, saying, “How the [expletive] “Are you going to get fired on your day off?” AWESOME. 10/10 content. No notes.

The use of the meme was actually quite elitist and fans had fun with it.
