One woman was killed and two others were hospitalized after what appears to be a domestic dispute that led to an attack with a samurai sword in San Dimas on Thursday afternoon.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officers were called to the intersection of South Huntington Avenue and Basset Court just before 3:30 p.m. for reports of a rescue.
Video footage obtained by KTLA shows a woman with blood on her right leg and hands holding the sword near a parked U-Haul truck in the 300 block of South Huntington Avenue as authorities arrive at the scene.
As the officers approached, the woman waved them over.
It appeared she wanted to show them the sword, but she immediately put the weapon down and raised her hands when the officers ordered her to do so.
“That woman then directs them to a residence on the street where officers find another woman suffering from lacerations, who was later pronounced dead at the scene,” LASD Lt. Daniel Vizcarra said at a news conference. “As they proceeded through the residence, another woman was located inside the residence unharmed, who was also transported to a local hospital for a medical emergency.”
According to KTLA's Rick Chambers, the emergency may have been a heart attack.

According to the authorities, it is not yet known what led to the deadly violence between at least two of the women. The women only speak Mandarin Chinese, which has delayed the investigation.
“Preliminary investigation suggests there may be a family connection, but again, due to the language barrier, we have not confirmed that,” said Lt. Vizcarra.
Aerial footage from Sky5 showed the area on South Huntington Avenue where the U-Haul truck was parked and the samurai sword lay in the street, cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape.
KTLA has learned that interpreters have been sent to the scene of the accident and the hospital to help investigators learn more about what exactly happened.
Detectives say there is no further threat to the community.
