KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian missiles struck a children's hospital in Kyiv and killed at least three people elsewhere in the Ukrainian capital on Monday, authorities said, while another attack in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih killed at least 10 people.
It was the largest bombing raid on Kiev in months. The daytime strikes included Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, one of the most advanced Russian weapons, according to the Ukrainian air force. The Kinzhal flies at 10 times the speed of sound, making it difficult to intercept. City buildings shook from the explosions.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia attacked five cities with more than 40 missiles of different types.
The attack hit the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kiev, Ukraine's largest children's clinic. There was no immediate news of casualties there.

The Kyiv city authorities reported falling debris, probably from intercepted missiles, in the Solomianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kyiv, causing fires. Thick plumes of smoke rose from several neighborhoods of Kyiv.
According to the head of Ukraine's presidential office, Andrii Yermal, the attack took place at a time when there were many people on the streets of the city.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at least three people were injured and official assessments of the consequences of the attack were still being carried out. Ambulances were en route to the Solomianskyi district, he said, adding that a children's hospital had been hit.
The attack came on the eve of a three-day NATO summit in Washington, which will look at ways to convince Ukraine of the alliance's unwavering support for the country and offer hope that its country can survive the largest European conflict since World War II.
Local officials also reported explosions in Ukraine's central Dnipropetrovsk region.
