Michael Cohen hits potential Trump lawyers with 1 piece of advice

Michael Cohen, who was Donald Trump’s attorney and fixer for more than a decade, had a strong recommendation for attorneys who might consider working with the former president.

As Trump reportedly faces threatening charges over a hush money payment to adult actor Stormy Daniels, who saw Cohen himself convicted and sent to prison, the attorney told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Friday:

“The smartest thing a lawyer can do, if Donald Trump asks you to represent him in this nightmare he’s about to live: run.”

“Run as fast as you can. And don’t run to Florida, especially Palm Beach. Run east or west somewhere, but don’t interfere with Donald at all. That’s what I’d say,” he added.

Cohen said Trump had so far avoided accountability and always thrown those around him under the bus.

The revolving door of lawyers now working with Trump has been a “clown show,” Cohen continued. He imagined them “come out of a Mini Cooper with floppy shoes and a red nose because what they’re saying doesn’t make any sense.”

Video of new Trump attorney Joe Tacopina trying to grab a piece of paper from MSNBC’s Ari Melber during an interview went viral this week.

“There are so many more people around (Trump) on the lawyer front that the big joke right now is that ‘MAGA’ really stands for ‘let lawyers get lawyers’, and unfortunately that’s really the truth ,” he added. .
