Three male teenagers were stabbed Friday night after an attack involving 10 teens in Palm Desert, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office said.
Friday at 9:43 p.m., Riverside County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the area of Portola Avenue and Hovley Lane for an assault with a deadly weapon. When deputies arrived, they found three young men suffering from stab wounds. Two were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and the third had minor injuries.
The sheriff has not released the ages of the stabbing victims.
After further investigation, sheriff's deputies learned that the injured men were part of a group of eight teens who attacked two other teens in the 73000 block of Magnesia Falls Drive. One of the victims of the attack stabbed the three young men, after which the two fled the area.
According to the sheriff's office, the group of eight got into a vehicle and drove to the 74000 block of Hovey Lane, where the driver dropped off the seven passengers and left. Officers detained the other four, who were unharmed.
No additional information has been shared about the two teenagers who fled the scene via Magnesia Falls Drive.
Riverside County Sheriff's Office crews investigated the area around the Palm Desert Aquatic Center and Hovley Soccer Park Friday evening.
This investigation is still ongoing.
