2 Missing Boys From California found in Las Vegas: Police

LAS VEGAS (class) – Two missing children who were last seen near their foster family in California were found in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

On Saturday, around 3.20 pm, LVMPD Fusion Watch saw a vehicle near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road that was associated with a amber warning from California that was initiated two days earlier.

The Amber Alert, initiated on August 21, identified the suspect as the 30-year-old Jackeline Hernandez-Torres, and the children as her 2-year-old son, Derek Alejandro Rodriguez-Hernandez, and her 10-year-old son, Jaden Hernandez.

On August 21, at 1:30 am, the brothers were last seen who walked away from their foster care house in the 300 block of South Virgil Avenue in Los Angeles. It was assumed that their biological mother, identified as Hernandez-Torres, brought them from Virgil Avenue to the 1500 block of East 52nd Street, according to LAPD.

Las Vegas Metro officers stopped the vehicle and held the people involved. The two children are now safe, according to the Las Vegas police.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said it cooperates with the police of Los Angeles, while the investigation continues.
