run away, lower rates, fold phones

    STORY: From why Boeing isn't getting a chance to how Huawei is stealing Apple's show, this is the week in numbers.

    :: 96%

    96% of Boeing factory workers on the West Coast voted to strike.

    They chose not to agree to a 25% pay increase.

    It's terrible timing for Boeing, already in turmoil after incidents including a mid-air tire blowout on one of its best-selling 737 MAX jets.

    :: $150 billion

    OpenAI has been awarded $150 billion in a new round of funding, up nearly three-quarters from earlier this year.

    This is evident from reports from Bloomberg.

    The news comes after the startup launched new AI models that the company claims can solve the toughest problems.

    :: 3.5%

    3.5% is the new interest rate of the European Central Bank.

    The benchmark was lowered by a quarter of a percentage point.

    According to bank director Christine Lagarde, the falling price pressure made the step possible:

    “Based on our updated assessment of the inflation outlook… // it is now appropriate to take a further step in moderating the degree of monetary policy restriction.”

    :: $2,800

    $2,800 is a hefty price tag for Huawei's new flagship phone, which can fold into three panels.

    The launch came just hours after Apple updated its devices.

    Chinese fans say Huawei has an edge thanks to its AI capabilities, as the new iPhones will not ship with the technology right away.

    :: 100 trillion

    ::AT&T

    And 100 trillion is the number of megabytes of wireless data America will consume in 2023.

    The record figure was more than a third higher than the year before, with the increase driven by the growing adoption of 5G phones.
