Madison Cawthorn’s definition of a woman is thoroughly mocked

Controversial Representative Madison Cawthorn (RN.C.) went to the House of Representatives on Monday to to educate troll his fellow representatives on the definition of a woman.

However, his transparent — and tasteless — attempt to own those damn libs about gender didn’t seem to change hearts and minds, based on social media’s response to his definition.

“I never thought that one of my sacred duties in this sacred room would be to explain to the House Speaker the difference between a man and a woman,” he said, referring to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) . “Take notes, Madam President, I am about to define what a woman is to you.”

Cawthorn then offered this definition: “XX chromosomes, not a tallywacker.”

“It’s that simple,” Cawthorn said. “And yet, today, this proclamation of basic scientific facts will have the awakened liberals in Silicon Valley rob you of your voice and banish you until you bow to their altar of falsehood.”

Cawthorn’s comment appeared to be in response to an interaction that occurred during the Senate hearings of Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson, in which she was asked to define the word “woman” by Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn .).

Jackson declined to provide a definition, replying, “I’m not a biologist.”

While many conservatives made the point, USA Today noted that many scientists, gender law scholars, and philosophers of biology say there isn’t a sufficient way to clearly define what makes a person a woman. Gender has become a hot-button talking point on the right amid a wave of anti-transgender laws proposed in state legislatures across the country. One is the Texas law that would classify gender-affirming care for transgender children as child abuse and currently faces legal challenges.

Meanwhile, Twitter users were unimpressed by Cawthorn’s comments.

Cawthorn has been on his feet lately after angering fellow Republicans by claiming that several top “leaders” invited him to orgies and also used cocaine for his eyes.

He also came under fire for calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “thug” and for driving with a revoked driver’s license.
