Lindsey Graham has a surprising response about whether he would support Donald Trump

Senator Lindsey Graham (RS.C.) doesn’t seem ready to support Donald Trump in a 2024 presidential run.

Graham went from being one of Trump’s biggest critics before the 2016 election to one of his biggest proponents, eventually even tapering off his temporary criticism of the former president after his instigation of the deadly U.S. Capitol uprising.

But on whether Graham would support Trump if he announced another run (as expected) on what he has teased as a major announcement coming Tuesday, Politico reported that the South Carolina Republican said: “Let’s see what he says… I’ll tell you later Georgia,” referring to the runoff between incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock (D) and Trump-backed Herschel Walker (R).

Graham’s apparent reluctance to go all in for Trump again mirrors that of other Republicans who have urged Trump to throw his hat in the ring until after the Georgia vote, following the GOP’s worse-than-expected results in the interim elections of 2022, which many critics have put down with Trump.

“I think he should put it on pause. Absolutely,” former Trump White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said last week of the possible announcement by her former boss.

However, that was before Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto’s (D-Nev.) victory over Nevada Republican Adam Laxalt, who maintained Democratic control of the U.S. Senate.
