Leah Remini and her husband, Angelo Pagan, will soon be empty nesters.
“Last night was Sofia’s prom. The last year has been filled with exciting milestones, but it doesn’t make it any less sad for parents to wonder how time has flown by so quickly,” Remini wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “Angelo and I couldn’t be more proud of the young woman Sofia is becoming. But I need this process to slow down.”
The photo shows the 51-year-old “King of Queens” star and Pagan (54) posing with their 17-year-old daughter Sofia, who is wearing a green dress. Behind them are festive balloons that spell out the word PROM.
Pagan, an actor turned entrepreneur, shared an emotional video on his Instagram. “I can’t even say how I feel because I’m really so overwhelmed with emotions,” he said. “My little girl is graduating and going to college.”
In his caption, Pagan noted that his wife of 8, “killed in the festivities! Nobody throws a party like @leahremini!”
Last month, Remini posted a throwback photo of Sofia as a little girl.
“This is our girl’s last day of high school,” Remini wrote. “It feels like yesterday we dropped off our little nugget in kindergarten. Her father and I are a mess, as you can imagine. Angelo asked me last night, ‘So Leah, what does the future hold with our little girl going to college?’ Of course I cried and said, ‘I don’t see a future without our daughter here in our house every day.’”
“I am so proud of Sofia,” the actor continued. “Still, I’m scared and sad. I don’t know what my life was like for our daughter. So I’m open to all advice. Parents, how did you deal with this?”
