The Israeli army has killed Yahya Sinwar, Hamas' top commander in Gaza, in a construction attack, according to reports from the IDF and Israeli media.
Sinwar was one of three people killed this week during IDF operations in Gaza, Israel's Channel 12 and Kann News reported Thursday. The IDF said there were “no signs of the presence of hostages in the area” and speculated that one of the targets could have been Sinwar.
Three terrorists were eliminated during IDF operations in Gaza. The IDF and ISA are investigating the possibility that one of the terrorists was Yahya Sinwar. At this stage the identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed.

Israel's Channel 12 and Kann News, a division of Israel's Public Broadcasting Service, later reported that one of the dead was in fact the prominent Hamas leader.
Kan 11 news channel reported that Sinwar was found with cash and several passports on his body. The death occurred during a regular military operation of an infantry unit in Rafah and was not planned in advance by special forces.
