The head of the UN nuclear watchdog says Iran has accepted request to stop increasing its near weapons-grade uranium stockpile

Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said Iran has accepted a request to stop increasing its 60% uranium stockpile, which is enriched to near weapons levels. Uranium enriched to a purity of 60% is just a short, technical step away from a weapons-grade level of 90%. Although cautious, Grossi was optimistic about the prospect, stressing that Iran might take “a different direction,” adding that this “deserves serious consideration.” (AP video by Philipp Jenne)
