Shocking new video footage shows the moment an e-bike rider crashes into a child, sending him flying. The incident happened last month while the child was trying to cross a cycle path to reach a bus stop in Elephant and Castle, London. The road design at this location means that the bus stop “floats” between the road and the cycle path, giving pedestrians no choice but to avoid cyclists when boarding or alighting the bus. Campaigners have called for these so-called “floating bus stops” to be scrapped, insisting they pose a danger to pedestrians, especially those who are blind or partially sighted. Sarah Gayton, Street Access Campaign Coordinator at the National Federation of the Blind of the UK (NFBUK), said: “I had only been there about an hour when this happened.
