16 people who voted for Donald Trump share exactly why they're already questioning their decision

After Election Day, we asked Trump voters from the BuzzFeed Community to tell us what they wish they had known before voting for him and why they might regret it now. The results are interesting:

1.“Well, this is the truth as I see it. I voted and let the chips fall where they may. Now I just have to wait and see. There are a lot of things that could happen. No one really knows exactly how it will go. only things that worry me are nuclear weapons. Once they're launched, there's no way to blow them up or intercept them. Then there's Russia, North Korea (which obviously seems pretty tight) and China -Koreans are now fighting for Russia; Putin gave Kim that boost?”

2.“The point is, I didn't vote, but if I had, I would have chosen Trump. Now I'm having second thoughts because I'm concerned about the Department of Education and how the rates will affect me. The reason I side with him is that there are too many dangerous undocumented immigrants in the US, and I am deeply passionate about the fact that abortion is the murder of a defenseless human child. But when I look at where the economy is going, I wonder what future schools will be like and I'm worried.”

3.“My 20-year-old son is now worried about losing health insurance. Our family joke is that the Affordable Care Act's best chance to survive is with a few minor tweaks, a mandatory victory lap and the new name” TrumpCare'.”

4.“I wish I knew he would mess with the Department of Education. I have two kids on IEPs and one in college.”

5.“I wish I had known who Trump's Cabinet pick would have been. He nominates poorly qualified and morally compromised individuals. I'm especially concerned about RFK Jr. and his history of making millions by suing vaccine companies and presenting false conclusions about vaccines. RFK and others elected to cabinet positions are good at convincing people (like Trump) of lies based on anecdotes and feelings. I still wouldn't vote for Harris, but I regret that a better conservative candidate wasn't an option. “

6.“I wouldn't say I regret voting for Trump again, but I wish he would elaborate on who his Cabinet would be. I don't like who is currently being chosen, and I don't consider them as fit or qualified as him. I'm afraid this means government jobs are at risk, which would have been nice to know in advance.”

7.“The threat of tariffs has caused insurance companies to withdraw their previous approval of drug therapies. Before the elections, I was approved for treatment with a very expensive drug. Three weeks after the election, I get a message from my insurance company that they no longer approve the drug. What happened in the meantime?

8.“I was really excited about voting for Trump because I wanted to liberate Palestine, but when he got elected he picked a bunch of Zionists for his cabinet, and now I think the news may have lied to me about Trump.”

9.“I thought the pandemic was over… what harm could he do now? I was honestly pro-Trump because I want some control over immigration. But he's not even in power yet and is about to put the final nail in the coffin for public education. I fear that public education will not survive.”

12.“His cabinet choices are ridiculous! And now the deportations are already forcing essential workers to leave.”

    -Anonymous, 66, California

13.“I voted for Donald Trump because he said there would be no tax on overtime. But now I hear that there will be no overtime at all. He won't clarify these options for eliminating overtime, and I continue to see high-employment jobs getting layoffs and bonuses being cut. He hasn't come out and clarified these possibilities, but it would clear my mind and resolve to vote for him if he did.”

14.'I was in favor of the mass deportation plan, but only in phases. I think he could go back on that plan and go for it 100%, and I hear that could lead to higher grocery prices. I'm worried about that. , but I wouldn't have voted for Kamala.”

15.“It seemed like no one wanted to reach my target audience – young men. We're not all 'Rogan bros' – it seemed like only Donald Trump gave us a seat at the big table. But now I'm worried about his I don't think the tariffs will cause too much of an increase, but I didn't know, and he didn't explain how important Mexico and Canada are to our trade don't like 'I said it you anyway” from leftists before he even gets back. We'll have to wait and see how this plays out.”

16.“I'll be honest: I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 without a doubt, but this year is different. I think both candidates would bring in the big guns; I thought it outweighed hers. Day 1 deportations could be bad. I had no idea that undocumented people paid taxes, and a lot of it I was fed misinformation, something everyone would have to admit says there is a thick layer of truth in it and maybe a bit of drama to get you to listen .”
